“The Jagged Edge of Progress” with Elise Guyette

Dr. Elise Guyette presents a hard hitting update on the lives of some of the people highlighted in her 2010 book, "Discovering Black Vermont," the story of three generations of free blacks trying to build a life and community in northern Vermont in the years following statehood. She follows them all over the United States, but especially to Reconstruction Era South Carolina, and examines their role in still unresolved social and historical struggles that shape our national discussions to this day.
