Get a Library Card at the Library
Yes, you can get a library card! Everyone is welcome here. Are you:
An adult resident of Burlington?
- Bring ID and proof of residence; lease, postmarked mail, etcetera. You must accompany your children ages 12 & under to sign them up (or download & complete the Youth resident library card application).
A teen resident of Burlington age 12-17?
- Bring your school ID, if you have one. If you do not have one, we will work with you to find an alternative. (You can download & complete the Teen resident library card application).
UVM/Champlain student?
- Your current student ID is all you need.
Temporarily housed in Burlington?
- Bring ID and statement of temporary residence from COTS, Spectrum, or other temporary housing organizations in Burlington.
Working in Burlington?
- Bring ID and proof of employment.
An educator seeking membership for your school or daycare?
- Follow the procedures to request an Institutional card.
Living outside of Burlington, but taking Vermont Adult Learning Program or other ELL classes?
- Bring ID and visit us at the front desk of the library to get a free card.
Living outside of Burlington?
- Bring ID and pay $50 for an annual library card, or $35 for a 6-month card. Seniors (Ages 62 and up) pay $35 for an annual library card.
Living outside of Vermont?
- Pay $175 for an annual library card.
Just need to use the Tech Center?
- Everyone is welcome to use our Tech Center resources. Visit the Tech Center for a free guest pass.
