Celebrate International Unicorn Day on April 9, 2020 with your favorite authors! ​

On April 9, 2020, authors of unicorn books will be live streaming readings and demonstrations throughout the day.  On this website, you will find a schedule of events and links, as well as suggestions on how to throw your own unicorn party and teacher’s guides to further explore some of these magical tales.  

The Library of Congress presents Dav Pilkey! Dav Pilkey at Home will feature new video content created by Pilkey himself on Friday mornings at 8 a.m. ET on social media channels and the websites of the Library and Scholastic, the global children’s publishing, education and media company.

Vermont author/illustrator Jason Chin shares his process LIVE in "Making Non-Fiction Picture Books" on the True Stuff Tuesdays Instagram.

Join award-winning author Jacqueline Woodson as she reads aloud from her autobiography-in-verse, "Brown Girl Dreaming" (winner of the National Book Award).

APRIL is POETRY MONTH!
Tune in to Colchester author Daniel M. Holtz's Facebook Live, every weekday in April at 11:00am Eastern (8:00am Pacific), for Poetry Corner! About 20 minutes of educational entertainment for kids, and the kid in you! Feel free to ask questions and comment live. And, every episode will be available to stream after broadcast!

In celebration of Cesar Chavez Day, award-winning author/illustrator Yuyi Morales presents a live reading of "Harvesting Hope: The Story of Cesar Chavez," written by Kathleen Krull and illustrated by Morales. "Harvesting Hope" received a Pura Belpré Award honor in 2004.

Join Vermont 4-H and UVM Extension each week on Mondays at 3PM as long as schools are closed. Each week a different topic in science, healthy living, and civic engagement will be introduced alongside fun take home challenges. We will meet back up on Thursdays at 3PM to share our findings.
