Hike Like an Ecologist at Rock Point Commons

If you had wings like a hawk, where would you fly? Birds of prey are found all over the world, in all kinds of environments—so why don’t we follow them! Join us on an imagined journey across the United States, and encounter some resident raptors in their ecosystems. We’ll learn about the habitat needs of each species, as well as their range and behavior in the wild. Who knows whoooo we’ll encounter? 

Live birds included!  All ages. 

Help us celebrate our favorite library robo-cat! Stop by for birthday treats on Tuesday, May 21st from 4-6 p.m., and join us for fun cat-themed crafts and activities all week long!

Saturday, May 4 is Free Comic Book Day! Kids: stop by the Youth Desk for a free comic book (while supplies last).

Pick up your solar eclipse glasses if you haven't already.  We will have plenty available.

 Join Emily Benz, Miss Northern Vermont, for a special read-aloud in honor of "Let's Read Vermont Day"! 11:00-11:30 am. Recommended for ages 3 & up.

Join educator Carrie Cruz, aka The Planetarium Lady, for an indoor sky theater experience like no other at Fletcher Free Library! Step inside the traveling planetarium dome for an interactive and immersive presentation about eclipses, and prepare yourself for the extraordinary total solar eclipse we will experience on April 8th!

Multiple presentations throughout the day at 10:15 am, 11:15 am,12:15 pm,1:30 pm & 2:30 pm; approximate running time is 40 minutes.

It's Unicorn Appreciation Week! Put on your sparkliest, most rainbow-laden unicorn attire and prance on down to the library for a celebration of all things unicorn!  Enjoy cupcakes, crafts, and lots of fun activities at the Opening Celebration on Tuesday, April 9, from 4-6 p.m. 

Can't make it to the party? No worries! We'll have special unicorn activities in the Kids' Area all week.
